Ashley’s House is a specialist therapeutic provision supporting autistic girls aged 11–18 to develop the communication, emotional regulation, independence, and daily living skills they need to access the world around them with confidence.
We provide a safe, low-arousal and relationship-based environment where young people are supported to build functional life skills through meaningful, real-life experiences such as cooking, community access, personal care, creative activities and supported social interaction.
Our approach recognises that many autistic young people require support with communication, sensory processing, and emotional regulation in order to engage in everyday activities. At Ashley’s House, this support is embedded throughout the day by trained practitioners experienced in working with neurodivergent young people.
Ashley’s House is not a school and does not deliver academic lessons. Where appropriate, we are able to support the delivery of outcomes specified within an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), including communication, emotional regulation, independence and preparation for adulthood outcomes, as part of a personalised package of support.
Our focus is on enabling autistic girls to develop the practical skills, self-understanding and confidence they need to participate meaningfully in daily life, relationships and their wider community.
At this time, our provision is best suited to autistic girls whose needs can be supported within our current setting. Unfortunately, we are not yet able to offer support for autistic girls with highly complex needs. This ensures we can provide a safe, calm, and positive environment for everyone attending.
As Ashley’s House continues to grow, we hope to expand our support further in the future.
